About
This piece technically took four years to make. It is an accidental accumulation because it was not sought out. My contact lenses accumulated passively because I use and dispose of two a day. The bleached part of the hair was significant because it has been a constant in my life for four years. I had bleached the front of my hair my freshman year of college and it became my indicator. Most of my colleagues and even my partner have not known me without it, to the point that some thought that it simply grew that way. It was part of my identity and the same with my contacts to a lesser degree. To me, they both show the passing of time in a passive way. I never understood the abject nature of loose hair or the disposal of contact lenses. I have simply become accustomed to them from sheer exposure. I also believe that the glass provides a barrier between the audience and the artist.
